Whoever says that this series is that between World’s number and number 2 side is a dull cricket enthusiast…In my view it’s a game between an Ostrich and a Chameleon, South African team being the Ostriches and The Indian team being the Chameleons ;) .

Here are my oh-so-crap views on the series between a team who promises to choke every now and then and another which oaths to stoop to their level ;)

The great South African cricket trick :)

The great South African cricket trick :)

The South Africans are the incarnation of OSTRICHES because from a distance when you look at them, they look imposing, huge and damn fierce…but go a bit closer and utter the word “pressure” then they will be terrorized as hell and do what an ostrich does best – give up and look down :D .

South Africans have always somehow, found a way to self destruct whenever they are on the verge of something special. Be it be 1999 World cup’s anticlimactic semifinal against Australia or the Inaugural T20 world cup match against India… they are specialists at it. The humongous captain Graeme Smith whose size would give the Bulldozer a complex, somehow fails to inspire the team when it needs the most ;) .

Coming to the analysis of SA team…

In the bowling department they have the lead spinner Paul Harris – who has spun the ball as much as Shane Warne…Err, I mean, the sum of the amount of spin Harris has imparted in his deliveries all his life is only 1 cm less than what Shane Warne used to do in 1 single delivery…he is quite there, we should be damn scared :D . Then they have the Rodent Avatar – Dale Steyn, who no doubt is a quality fast bowler but doesn’t have much the deadly looks to shake the batsmen inside out, which is so bloody needed on “dead as Afridi’s brain” Indian pitches (now you know why Jason Gillespie took so many wickets :) ). The Skyscraper aka Morney Morkel is a good bowler too mind you, but with the height which he is “blessed” with, I fear that even his full pitched and yorker deliveries would zoom meters over the Lilliput sized Indian batsmen!

Look out for left handed Parnell though!

The batting department looks good and boasts of great plump Jaques Kallis whose shoulders and forward defense resembles a boulder more, Amla the Saint, the stylish A B Devil-ears, Boucher the pouch-er and last and also the least – Ashwell Prince who has developed a fervid liking for zeroes since he has been promote up as an opener – “Ashwell” is “Not well” certainly!

On the other hands we have the Indian team who is a specialist at surprises…They adapt their level of performance by looking at their opponents…When faced with Kenya they stoop to their level and when with Australia they threaten to overshadow them and I bet if someday they will face Japanese hockey team in a cricket match then that match would be a thriller too and would end in a tie/draw…that is the beauty of Indian cricket team FOR YOU ;) .

The Indian cricket team's Alias!

The Indian cricket team's Alias!

I don’t see the need to analyse Indian Team as you have it by-heart already…but just for the records, we have “Extra-Ordinary” Sehwag, Gambhir who takes his surname too seriously on and off the field and The GENIUS..No genius here doesn’t refer to Sachin(he is the GOD :) )…Genius here refers to Harbhajan because inspite of not performing since that 2001 Australia series, he somehow clings onto his place, maybe because of his batting I guess ;)  . Dhoni the plougher would continue with his acts and NO… Yuvraj wont be missed because Ishant Sharma would make that many runs…

Zaheer and Ishant bowling combo would be a handful when AND IF they reverse the ball….These men have renounced the conventional swing  for the moment and seem to lack the “bite” with the new ball…No I am not talking about “bite” which Afridi excels at!

Look out for Murali Vijay who replaces the broken jaw WALL Dravid…

So, in this grand game between the OSTRICH and the CHAMELEON on whom would you place your money…I will keep it safely in my back -pocket :D .

My Verdict  – >1-1 or 0-0

Whats yours??
